Toilet Drama With Boys..!

Ok, I know I have done a post on toilet training but that was more the difference I have found between a daughter and a son coming out of nappies.

Since that post, I think I have figured out why my boy is not interested in going to the toilet. Ok, firstly, the problem over the past few months is that he tries to 'hold on' to his #2's. Yep, fully holds on - i.e. stands and grabs the nearest sturdy piece of furniture, crosses his legs and tries to keep it in! I took him to the Doctor the other day for it because I wanted to make sure he was ok - I thought it was the opposite and that he was constipated.

Anyways, our Doctor said that he's actually trying to hold on to it and has given me some drops to put in his drink that is a mild laxative. Firstly, I'm wondering is this normal toddler behaviour??! Because from memory, I didn't have this much drama with my girl. Although, my husband says that she did go through this for a short while.

But after having a good chat to him this morning (at least, as good a chat as you can have with a 2 1/2 year old!), we found out why he doesn't want to go on the toilet. He said "no, I'm a boy!" and we told him, yes that's right, and big boys go on the toilet and he said "no, boy's don't go toilet!". I looked at my husband (who cracked up laughing!) and told him that now it's his job to change that view that our boy has!!! haha

But at least we now know why he isn't interested in going to the toilet!!! Will let you know how long it takes us to make him understand that boys go toilet too!! lol

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: "Recommend virtue to your children, that alone - not wealth, can give happiness"
